Packed with endless action fight seuences dead bodies suspense espionage and a compelling storyline Roger Weston has created what appears to be a very enjoyable start of a promising series Our protagonist Chuck Brandt is reminiscent of several Jack characters Jack Bauer from 24 Lee Child's Jack Reacher and LT Ryan's Jack Noble And throw in some non Jacks with Mitch Rapp and Chuck Norris and that's pretty good company to be compared to What makes Chuck a great protagonist is that there is also a brokenness to him as well as a thirst for redemption and this makes him interesting and compelling Roger Weston does a great job from beginning to end with a complex storyline that never veers into boredom for the reader even if some of the explanations went over my head This is an edge of your seat thriller where people are getting shot at one minute delivering punches to the head boat chases rock climbing and many many cool settings I found the dialogue to be believable and I liked a lot of the secondary characters that I am sure we will see in books to follow While there were some typos I found they were not distracting or too numerous I did want to warn that there was a lot of bad language throughout the book to appeal to a mainstream audience though I think the book would have been fine without it All in all this was an exciting book and series that I feel will only get better the further you get into the series Great job to Roger Weston on creating a great main character and action packed adventureSee of my reviews at

Move over Indiana Jones Rambo and Jack Reacher here comes Chuck Brandt survivor extraordinaire From the moment I started reading this wild action packed Boy's Own adventure I knew I had to finish it In all his blokey glorythe hero Chuck takes on an army of assassins and single handedly disarms and kills them all as you doThe pace never slackens and sometimes the action jumps around without explanation I couldn't figure out why Chuck doesn't realise they have him covered with bugs in his truck or car or perhaps its doesn't matter but then why would he use a wide variety of disguises when he is seeking information? Chuck never seems to uestion why the crooks turn up everywhere he does Got to be a reason Likewise one of his friends is killed but there is no indication of how the baddies knew Chuck was even speaking to the man These are the only weak spots I saw in this storyThe plot concerns a plan to force members of the American Government to vote for a massive defence budget to the detriment of essential services The senators are coerced into voting for the funding in a variety of ways blackmail and their families being threatened are the least of itThe head crook wants to set up a space station which will harness solar power direct from the sun and use this to control the world The secret company for which Brandt once worked has taken Chuck's lady and whisked her off to a mysterious place called Jin Mountain The premise is simple Chuck sets out to rescue her and nothing is going to stop him Interwoven with the main plot is an experiment in seeing how far a man like Chuck Brandt can be stressed without breaking but the worse the provocation gets the slower Chuck's stress levels fall to the consternation of the experimenterThis is not a woman's book by any means so all you men out there download this one you won't be sorry However I have to say that I enjoyed it even though it felt as though I was clinging to a pole strung out like a flag in a gale force wind all the way through

Traditional action novelIt was a good book If you like this genre it has all of the action and guns I think the character interactions could have been interesting and the plot been developed

This book is almost non stop action It seemed like every page had someone that was getting shot stabbed beat to a pulp blown up or kidnappedChuck the main character is an assassin Is he a good guy or a bad guy? You could argue either side I liked him He pulls off some bad ass movesI recently read that to have a successful thriller book you need to show your characters failings and continually ratchet up the misery while keeping the action increasing Mr Weston does that in spades with this bookI had read the first half of this book then stopped Not sure why I must've had a brain freeze because when I picked it back up barley a chapter into it and my heart was pegged and sleep was going to be a long way off I literally chewed through the rest of the book in four days Two that it should have taken but in my defense I went on vacation and it's hard to fish with a laptop in my handsThis story has a lot of characters that form a troop of baddies and I won't spoil anything but a good time was not had by allThe only thing I disliked about the book is that it leaves threads at the end for the continuation of the story I personally do not like that I prefer each book in a series to stand on it's own and have a clear ending That is to take nothing away from this book because it delivers on so much that it wasn't one of the endings that causes you to groan with disbelief that the author ended it thereThriller fans will enjoy this book and it will be very interesting to see what Mr Weston has in store for Chuck

Right I really wish the authors would give us a blurb instead of what others said about the book This gets to be a very bad habit and does nothing to promote the book I want to know what the book is about not a snippet or 50 from other readersThat said the book was not bad If you like the genre you will probably like this a lotWaAr
