This book This Book It pulled the feels straight from my gut and still left me begging for Emotional torture at its finest and I loved itThe author continues the story of Skyler and Bastian and let me tell you it is becoming EPIC At about 14 through the book the plot grabbed me by the throat and didn't let go until the end And of course it sueezed all sorts of feels out of meThere were times I yelled NO at the screen and contemplated threatening the author to make it all good in the end because dammit if she didn't then I'd come banging down her door and well let's just not go thereOne of the things I appreciate most about these stories and the author's writing is that there is no all compassing EVIL no antagonist that is bad just for badness' sake with no reason or rhyme except he's TEH EVIL ONE No in these stories the antagonistic forces arise from differing interests interests that taken by themselves and looked at from the point of view of the person holding them make sense and are not evil at all I could to a certain degree sympathize with the antagonists and I could see where they were coming from and that they are not in fact bad people But their interests still are in total and complete opposition to our heroine and hero's goals which makes for crackling conflict And that is awesome writingBy this second installment in the trilogy I cared so deeply about these characters even about one of the former antagonists that I felt split between wanting to read on to find out what happened to them and wanting to stall reading so I could just stay in this world a little longerBastian and Skyler's romance deepens and is taken to the next level as does the thread of events that was kicked off with the destiny altering end of 9th Life Things have been set in motion that go far beyond anything Skyler could have guessed in book one and the threads of fate grow tighter around all of the characters leading to a culmination of the story in book three that no one could have envisionedOr could they?

A definite page turner And can't wait for the 3rd fingers tapping I didn't have any tears with 9th life but definitely had some bad allergies with The Forgotten I enjoy the author's writing style though I had just a few issues and as with any review just my opinion I found in 9th Life there were a couple points where I had to re read to figure out who was doing the thinking or talking any time there were than two characters in the room or even outside but within appropriate distance ; There were a few places where I struggled to grasp the reasoning behind some of Bastian's Caleb's and Daniel's responsesemotions but figured and did I'd get clarity later in the book just a few points where it could have been spelled out a tiny bit Still very enjoyable and so glad I stumbled upon The Naming of Legends in my search for an entertaining read I may just have to pick them up again as I impatiently wait for the thirdin the series A note on the sex scenes I found them infreuent and extremely mild compared to what you'd find in something like the Anita Blake or 50 Shades series

Must have book three now Of course it might help to catch a little sleep first I literally couldn't put this book downI thoroughly enjoyed book one of this series 9th Life but this one definitely topped it Although it's not uite the easy fun read I so often look for it had me addicted from the beginning It was uite the roller coaster ride of every emotion imaginableIt's rare to become so invested in the lives of characters but I found myself needing to know how they could possibly work their way through the difficulties life seems to hand them at every turn Even during the rare times I had to set the book down to deal with real life I couldn't help but think about it My only disappointment is that book three is yet to be publishedsigh I can't wait for Skybound and I really look forward to getting to know Naiwen she shows up very late in the book and is uite the character

After reading the first book of this series I was totally in love with Bastian and almost jealous of the relationship he had with Sky Theirs was something special a once in a lifetime love that withstands whatever is thrown at itBook #2 The Forgotten did not disappoint In fact it tested that fairy tale romance and had me booing cheering gasping crying swooning and even fanning myself a bit as the passion erupted All of this while delving deeper into the shifter society of the Maarjaaran Again the author Wendy Beck delights with a well rounded book that doesn’t sacrifice a background story for the sake of having amazing characters and relationshipsThat being said I’m eagerly awaiting the next book in the series and will keep my eye on Wendy Beck for years to come She’s an up and coming author with a ton of potential and a fluid style that allows me to lose myself in her work
